Gaza Communications Blackout Sparks Concerns of Israeli War Crimes

[post-views]

As phone and internet services remain suspended in Gaza, multiple media outlets and humanitarian organizations have raised alarms regarding the potential for Israeli war crimes in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Palestinian telecom company Jawwal reported that Israel’s indiscriminate bombing had effectively severed all international communication routes connecting Gaza to the outside world.

The Gaza Strip, enduring some of the most intense Israeli bombings, has been isolated from the rest of the world for two consecutive days. Reports from Hamas indicate that Israeli forces conducted minor ground incursions overnight.

Nida Ibrahim, reporting from Ramallah in the occupied West Bank for Al Jazeera, emphasized that information emerging from Gaza had become “very, very minimal.” The blackout leaves Palestinians both inside and outside of Gaza in the dark about the situation, preventing them from checking on the well-being of their friends, loved ones, and family members.
