Pakistani educator Sister Zeph has been honored with the esteemed Global Teacher Prize 2023 for her exceptional work in educating disadvantaged children.

At the age of 13, Sister Zeph took the initiative to establish a school within her home courtyard in Gujranwala.

The Varkey Foundation, in collaboration with UNESCO and in a strategic partnership with the UAE-based philanthropic organization Dubai Cares, made the announcement, stating, “We are delighted to announce that Sister Zeph, an instructor specializing in English, Urdu, culture, inter-faith harmony, and climate change in Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan, has been named the winner of the Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize 2023.”
