The Existential challenge of PTI: How can Barrister Gohar Khan & PTI legal team cope with it?

Barrister Kamran Ali

The challenge for Pakistani political parties, in general, and PTI, in particular, is how they can get the nomination papers of 859 candidates for the National and Provincial Assemblies approved.

According to a recent survey by Republic Policy, if the popular vote appears on 859 seats, it will be difficult for PTI to lose due to the popular vote. Therefore, it is critical for PTI to manage candidates on all NA and PA seats of National and Provincial assemblies.

The real test for Gowhar Khan and PTI’s lawyers is to get 859 nomination papers approved. In this regard, PTI will have to ask its lawyers, workers, ISF, youth and primary supporters to submit nomination papers in each constituency so that there are candidates available in every case for giving tickets later, and secondly, there are better candidates available among the available candidates.

According to the Republic Policy survey, PTI is ahead of all other political parties in the popular vote in all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. It is also gaining popularity in the Pashtun belt of Balochistan and can perform well by combining Maulana Shirani and other local factors.

It is also popular in the popular vote in Karachi. It can show good performance through the electables in the interior of Sindh, even if it does not come in a position to win seats.

PTI is a federal party and is in a position to compete on 225 seats out of 266 Na seats. However, it will depend on the availability of candidates. If there are no candidates in the constituencies, then PTI’s popularity will not be of electoral advantage.

Therefore, the real test will now be for the Chairman of PTI and lawyers, and as a last option, they can give tickets to lawyers because lawyers have electoral skills due to the bar politics. It should be remembered that bar politics is the most difficult politics in Pakistan, and it can also be called the nursery of politics. Furthermore, lawyers can manage court proceedings effectively and can be stronger candidates in hard times.

In detail, the challenge for PTI’s legal wing is to get the nomination papers of 859 candidates approved. This is a daunting task, but it is essential for PTI to be successful in the upcoming elections.

There are a number of factors that will make this challenge difficult. First, the nomination papers are subject to a number of legal requirements, and it is important for the PTI legal team to ensure that all of these requirements are met. Second, the PTI will be facing opposition from other political parties, who will be trying to disqualify PTI candidates. Third, the PTI legal team will need to be prepared to deal with any legal challenges that may arise. Lastly, PTi is not riding on the support of the system, as was the case in the 2018 general elections. Now, it is the PMLN and other PDM political parties that are riding the system’s support.

Despite these challenges, the PTI legal team is confident that they can be successful. They have a team of experienced lawyers who are familiar with the election process, and they are working closely with PTI’s leadership to develop a strategy for getting the nomination papers approved.

The PTI legal team has a number of tools at their disposal to help them meet this challenge. They can use their knowledge of the law to help them ensure that the nomination papers are properly filled out. They can also use their relationships with other lawyers and legal professionals to help them overcome any legal challenges that may arise.

The PTI legal team is committed to ensuring that PTI candidates are able to run in the upcoming elections. They are confident that they can meet the challenge and help PTI to achieve its electoral goals. There are so many options available for PTI. Lastly, they can ask all the lawyers, workers, and volunteers to file NA and PA nomination papers.

Here are some specific steps that the PTI legal team can take to meet the challenge of getting the nomination papers approved:

  • Start early. The PTI legal team should start working on this challenge as soon as possible. The sooner they start, the more time they will have to prepare and the less likely they are to make any mistakes.
  • Get organized. The PTI legal team should develop a system for organizing the nomination papers. This will help them to keep track of the papers and to ensure that they are all properly filed.
  • Get help. The PTI legal team should not be afraid to ask for help from other lawyers and legal professionals. There are many people who are willing to help PTI to get its candidates on the ballot.

By taking these steps, the PTI legal team can increase its chances of success. But for that, the organization of PTI must ensure that at least five candidates from each constituency, whether that of the National Assembly or Provincial Assembly, may have more than five options available. Therefore, the nomination of papers is a test of the organizational capacity of PTI as well as of Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan and the legal wing of PTI.
