ISLAMABAD: Another resolution was presented in the Senate on Sunday, in which the general elections scheduled for February 8 across the country have been delayed.
Senator Hilal-ur-Rehman of the Azad Parliamentary Group presented a resolution citing severe cold weather, snowfall and security challenges as a hindrance to the general elections.
The resolution said that extreme cold and snowfall in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are depriving the citizens of voting while the candidates are also facing many challenges to conduct election campaigns.
The resolution said that the date of February 8 is not appropriate for the elections.

It is to be mentioned here that this is the third resolution presented in the Upper House demanding delay in the elections.
A similar resolution was presented in the Senate a few days ago.
Meanwhile, the Senate on January 5 passed a resolution requesting the delay of the February 8 general elections, citing security concerns.
