The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued a code of conduct regarding the deployment of security personnel to ensure foolproof security during the upcoming general elections.
According to the code of conduct, security personnel will be posted outside all polling stations to maintain law and order.
Security will be provided during the printing of ballot papers and their transportation from the printing press to the offices of the returning officers.
Security will also be provided to the presiding officers during the transportation of polling bags from the offices of the returning officers to the polling station.
The Election Commission said that the security personnel will remain neutral during the election process in general and during the voting process and will not work for or against any political party.

Security officials will ensure that voters are provided with a peaceful, safe and conducive environment outside the polling stations so that voters are not intimidated or prevented from voting in any way.
They will facilitate the voters and ensure that the voters are lined up properly.
Further, the security personnel shall follow the instructions of the Presiding Officer for the performance of their duties and shall provide security to the premises of the Returning Officer’s office till the completion of the results and shall ensure the safekeeping of the polling bags and other materials.
