Amidst Russia’s ongoing presidential election, the war with Ukraine intensified on Saturday. Ukrainian shelling struck the Russian city of Belgorod, killing two civilians. A drone attack also caused a fire at a major oil refinery near Moscow. Russia claims to have thwarted attempted border crossings by Ukrainian saboteurs, while Ukraine targeted a polling station with a drone in the annexed Zaporizhia region.
These actions follow a deadly Russian missile strike on Odesa, raising tensions and prompting a vow of retaliation from Ukrainian President Zelenskyy.
