Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Friday warned that the province may reconsider cooperation with the federal government, including a possible boycott, over delays in Imran Khan’s court cases.
Chairing a cabinet meeting, he said continued delays and alleged political discrimination against PTI could strain relations with the Centre.
Afridi stressed that PTI remained committed to national interest and dialogue-based conflict resolution, reflecting Imran Khan’s long-standing stance on peace through negotiations.
He also raised concerns over alleged mistreatment of PTI workers and Imran Khan’s family, and restrictions on access to medical care and family visits, calling it a rights issue.
On resources, he criticised the suspension of CNG supply in KP, warning of a strong response if the issue with SNGPL was not resolved.
The cabinet also approved key reforms in fiscal management for 2026–27, including debt limits, a budget strategy focused on revenue growth and reduced borrowing, prison reforms allowing virtual family visits, performance-based incentives for officials, and healthcare improvements for anti-polio efforts. Officials denied reports of lifetime privileges for assembly leaders.
