CAIRO: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar joined his counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Egypt in a joint call on Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo on Sunday, where regional leaders discussed deepening cooperation and advancing peace efforts across the Middle East.
Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding and multifaceted relationship with Egypt, noting with appreciation the positive momentum in bilateral exchanges that has broadened cooperation across multiple sectors. He also welcomed President El-Sisi’s acceptance of an invitation from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to visit Pakistan.
The meeting offered an opportunity to exchange views on regional and international developments, particularly the evolving Middle East situation, with participants emphasising the importance of dialogue, de-escalation, and continued diplomatic engagement. President El-Sisi praised Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional stability, commending the efforts of the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, and the military leadership in fostering peace. He expressed hope that ongoing negotiations would yield lasting security and prosperity for the wider region.
Discussions also touched on consultations under the R4 framework linking Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, with participants highlighting the forum’s growing role in coordinating shared regional interests. The meeting, held in a warm and cordial atmosphere, concluded with renewed confidence that sustained engagement would advance peace, stability and economic development for all four countries.
