Three Pakistani companies, Murree Brewery, Systems Limited, and Sazgar Engineering Works, have been included in Forbes’ Asia’s Best Under a Billion 2026 list.
According to Forbes, the small and midsized companies featured on the list are successfully navigating the challenges of geopolitical tensions and volatile energy markets. The list comprises 200 publicly listed Asia-Pacific companies with sales above $10 million and below $1 billion, all of which delivered strong financial metrics over the period assessed.
Murree Brewery Company Limited posted net sales of $102 million and a market value of $92 million, according to Forbes. Established in 1861 as a public limited company, predating the subcontinent’s partition, the company’s principal activity involves manufacturing and selling a diverse range of products, including alcoholic beer, among others.
Systems Limited reported sales of $286 million against a market value of $759 million. The company’s core business spans software development and trading, as well as business process outsourcing services, helping clients navigate digital transformation. Beyond its strong presence in the local market, Systems Limited maintains a significant international footprint across the US, UK, EU, and Middle East.
Sazgar Engineering Works, meanwhile, recorded sales of $389 million and net income of $58 million. Founded in Pakistan as a private limited company in 1991, it became a public limited company in 1994. Its core business centers on manufacturing and selling automobiles, automotive parts and accessories, and household electronic appliances, with manufacturing plants located in Lahore. The company has significantly diversified its business by entering the four-wheeler market, partnering with Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor to manufacture and assemble Haval SUVs in Pakistan. In July 2022, Sazgar completed its Haval manufacturing facilities, rolling out its first batch of locally assembled units, the H6 1.5T and 2.0T, in August 2022.
