Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Emphasizes Positive Economic Trends

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar recently shared that the country is experiencing positive economic growth across different sectors. These improvements are a result of the government’s efforts to simplify the lives of its citizens through practical measures. Additionally, he reiterated the government’s dedication to implementing reforms and responsible policies to lead the country out of economic challenges.

In a recent announcement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif revamped the Council of Common Interests (CCI), with Dar being included and Aurangzeb being excluded. This move comes in light of the prime minister’s effective policies that have contributed to strengthening the economy and reducing inflation to 11 percent.

Furthermore, Dar emphasized the nation’s commitment to ensuring the security and integrity of its institutions, mentioning that the law will be rightfully upheld if any red lines are crossed. He underlined the necessity of eradicating terrorism for the unity and stability of the country.

Addressing the impact of past destabilization efforts, Dar reflected on how Pakistan’s economy could have been the 24th largest in the world in 2018 if destabilization hadn’t occurred in 2017. He also commented on the recent meeting between Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PM Shehbaz Sharif, expressing confidence in resolving any issues with the PPP.

In response to the cancellation of a public gathering by PTI, Dar explained that the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad has the authority to grant permission and emphasized the importance of ensuring minimal inconvenience to the public during such events.

Finally, Dar acknowledged the Punjab government’s initiative to provide relief to electricity consumers by reducing the cost per unit by Rs 14.
