A landmark peace agreement between Iran and the United States is expected to be signed in Switzerland on Friday, marking a significant step toward ending months of tensions and conflict across the Middle East. The deal is also expected to facilitate the reopening of the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global energy supplies.
According to Iran’s foreign minister, one of the central objectives of the agreement is to bring an end to hostilities across multiple fronts, including Lebanon, where Israel and Hezbollah have been engaged in ongoing clashes. The proposed accord has been welcomed by many countries as a potential turning point for regional stability.
However, uncertainty remains over Israel’s response to the agreement. Reports circulating on social media have highlighted comments by former Israeli intelligence officer Ari Ben-Menashe, who claimed that Israel could attempt to undermine any significant progress between Washington and Tehran.
In an interview with Going Underground, Ben-Menashe alleged that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could use previously unseen material related to Jeffrey Epstein to influence American political figures and disrupt the peace process. He further claimed that Epstein had been recruited decades ago as an Israeli intelligence asset to gather compromising information on influential Western personalities.
Meanwhile, speaking at the G7 Summit on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump expressed concern over the continuing conflict in Lebanon. He said Israel had been fighting Hezbollah for too long and stressed the need for greater restraint. Trump also criticized a recent Israeli attack, describing it as excessive and saying he did not approve of the action.
