Iran Warns US Over Hormuz Transit as Tensions Rise

[post-views]

Iran has announced that it will no longer allow American weapons to pass through the Strait of Hormuz en route to military bases in the region, according to statements carried by state media. Army spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia said all vessels using the strategic waterway would now operate under the supervision of Iranian armed forces to ensure what he described as “safe passage.”

Akraminia stated that the western section of the strait is controlled by the Revolutionary Guards navy, while the eastern side is overseen by the Iranian navy. He claimed Iran had successfully resisted years of foreign pressure and said recent military operations had prevented enemies from damaging the country’s missile and nuclear capabilities.

The senior commander also warned that Iran’s military strategy had shifted to a more offensive posture and that any hostile action would trigger a severe response. In separate remarks, Revolutionary Guards official Saeed Siahsorani warned the United States against military action in the Persian Gulf, saying Iran was already applying “smart blocking” tactics in the area.

Iranian officials continue to accuse Washington of maintaining pressure and restrictions on Iranian maritime activity. Tehran has also warned it is prepared for prolonged conflict if regional tensions intensify.
