Israel Bombs Northern Gaza: Kills 166 Innocent Palestinian

Overnight, Israel attacked Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, and the fighting continued throughout Sunday morning, according to residents and Palestinian media. Both the Gaza health authorities and the Israeli military reported rising death tolls.

Israel claims it has gained almost full operational control over northern Gaza and is getting ready to extend its ground attack against Hamas militants to other areas. However, Jabalia residents said they experienced constant air strikes and shelling from Israeli tanks, which they said had advanced deeper into the town on Saturday.

A Gaza health ministry spokesman said on Sunday that 166 Palestinians had died in the last 24 hours, bringing the total Palestinian fatalities to 20,424. Thousands have been injured, and many corpses are presumed to be buried under the rubble. Nearly all of Gaza’s 2.3 million inhabitants have been displaced.

The Israeli military said that nine of its soldiers had died in the previous day, raising its announced combat losses to 155 since it started its ground invasion in response to Hamas’ Oct. 7 raid into Israel, in which militants killed 1,200 and took 240 hostage.
