Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Wednesday that Pakistan and China were entering a new phase of economic cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0, with the next stage of the flagship project focusing on industrialization, agriculture, information technology, mining, and human resource development.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s all-weather strategic partnership with China remained a cornerstone of the country’s foreign policy and development agenda.
Speaking at a reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Dar congratulated the party’s leadership and members, praising China’s remarkable achievements under the CPC’s leadership.
He said China’s extraordinary economic transformation and success in lifting hundreds of millions of people out of poverty had not only improved the lives of its citizens but also contributed significantly to global development by promoting shared prosperity and the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Highlighting the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China, Dar said the relationship had been strengthened over generations and continued to serve as a model of mutual trust, mutual respect, and mutually beneficial cooperation. He added that both countries had consistently supported each other’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and core national interests, reinforcing their enduring all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.
