Awarapan 2, starring Emraan Hashmi alongside Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Survinder Vicky, Purab Gabbi, and others, recorded a fantastic opening weekend at the box office, smashing Rs. 114 crore in its 3-day global weekend haul, the biggest opening weekend of Hashmi’s career for a solo-lead film.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the romantic action drama collected Rs. 97.50 crore (Rs. 81.50 crore nett) in India alone, while pulling in around Rs. 16.50 crore (approximately $1.75 million) from international markets. The film recorded its biggest single day on Saturday, boosted by the Independence Day holiday in India.
The film has already established itself as a strong success at the box office. The coming two weeks stand to benefit from multiple holidays, which should further support collections, though the film will face competition from Toxic during that period. Should it hold steady, Awarapan 2 has the potential to secure a Blockbuster verdict.
