The federal government will present Pakistan’s budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 on June 10, outlining its economic priorities, revenue measures, and development plans for the coming year.
The announcement was confirmed on Thursday by Khurram Schehzad, Adviser to the Finance Minister. He said Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will present the budget in the National Assembly, while the Economic Survey 2025-26 will be released a day earlier on June 9. The survey will provide a detailed assessment of the country’s economic performance during the outgoing fiscal year.
The upcoming budget is expected to define the government’s fiscal strategy as Pakistan continues efforts to strengthen economic stability and sustain growth under challenging domestic and global conditions.
Earlier this week, the National Economic Council (NEC), chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, postponed a key meeting to allow further consultations on budget proposals. The constitutional body must approve major macroeconomic targets and endorse the size of the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) before the federal budget is formally presented.
