PPP blasts Khan over defamatory remarks

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

PPP serves PTI Chairman Imran Khan with a legal notice of 10 billion Rupees, accusing him of slandering their Co-Chairman, Asif Ali Zardari, with false accusations. The notice says the statements by Khan have caused great harm and distress to the members of the PPP both within Pakistan and internationally, damaging their reputation.

The notice alleges that Khan’s accusations aim to connect Zardari with terrorist organizations and are made blindly, ignoring the fact that PPP has been a victim of terrorism. The notice also states that the PTI Chairman’s actions have caused severe emotional stress and loss of reputation for Zardari.

The notice requires Khan to offer a public apology on television, print, and social media within 14 days, and if he fails to do so, the PPP will take legal action in Pakistan and England, including a suit for damages of 10 billion Rupees.
