The discussions surrounding this constitutional package have sparked speculation about the potential extension of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa’s tenure. CJP Isa is scheduled to retire in October of this year, and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) previously requested prompt notification of the next top judge.
