PTI Rejects Economic Survey, Calls It Misleading and Anti-Poor

[post-views]

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday dismissed the government’s Pakistan Economic Survey 2025-26, describing it as a politically driven document that fails to reflect the economic realities faced by citizens.

In a statement, PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram accused the ruling coalition of presenting a distorted picture of the economy through selective statistics and exaggerated claims. He termed the survey “a masterpiece of statistical manipulation” and argued that it overlooks the financial difficulties confronting ordinary Pakistanis.

Akram said the report was designed to create a false impression of economic progress while ignoring rising living costs, unemployment and public hardship. According to him, the government’s claims of economic improvement do not match the experiences of the people on the ground.

The PTI leader further alleged that the survey serves political interests rather than providing an honest assessment of the country’s economic performance and challenges.
