The US ambassador to Pakistan, Donald Blome, has stated that the United States is committed to helping Pakistan overcome its challenging economic situation.
Speaking after a ceremony in Islamabad, Blome emphasized that Washington is working hard to find solutions to the nation’s serious economic issues, including the stalled International Monetary Fund (IMF) program, which is currently under negotiation between Pakistani authorities and the IMF.
In addition, he highlighted that Pakistan and the US recently completed successful high-level trade and investment negotiations in Washington, and that this week’s senior-level talks on energy, security, and climate change are a follow-up to the Geneva talks.
Blome acknowledged that Pakistan is facing human rights challenges like many other countries, but stressed that the US views Pakistan as a partner and will continue to support the country in the field of security.
