American Congressman Brad Sherman, a prominent member of the Democratic Party and the House Foreign Affairs Committee, has expressed grave concerns over the escalating human rights violations in Pakistan.

In a video statement shared by Musarrat Cheema, former information secretary of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab, Sherman voiced his concerns over the rising incidents of violence in Pakistan. He called on the government to take immediate action against human rights violators.

“We will not shy away from speaking out against human rights violations,” asserted Sherman, who has been serving on the foreign affairs committee for 26 years. The congressman emphasized that the people of Pakistan must be allowed to express themselves and protest peacefully.

Sherman also stressed the importance of the United States standing up for human rights, not just in Pakistan, but across the world.

“We must continue to advocate for human rights, wherever they are being violated,” he said.

As the situation in Pakistan continues to deteriorate, it remains to be seen what actions the government will take to address the concerns raised by Sherman and other international voices.
