In a meeting discussing the ease of doing business, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave the green light for the introduction of the Asaan Karobar Act. This initiative aims to streamline the process for businesses and traders by simplifying documentary procedures. The Prime Minister emphasized the need for a one-window operation to be established, which would serve as a centralized platform for handling various requirements, thus reducing bureaucratic hurdles. Additionally, he instructed that expertise from Chinese professionals be leveraged to set up an experimental facility service centre, drawing inspiration from the successful model of the Shenzhen One-Stop Shop.
Furthermore, it was revealed that plans are underway to create an electronic registry for business registration, licenses, certificates, and other essential documents. This digitization endeavour is anticipated to enhance efficiency and transparency in the process. The electronic registry will provide a centralized platform for businesses to access and manage their documentation, thus further promoting the ease of doing business in the country.
