German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has warned that Israel is facing increasing diplomatic isolation amid the deepening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and a global push toward recognising Palestinian statehood. Speaking ahead of his official visit to Israel, Wadephul highlighted that the recent United Nations conference supporting a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict underscored Israel’s growing diplomatic isolation, as both Israel and the United States chose not to participate. He stressed that Israel is finding itself increasingly at odds with the prevailing international consensus.

In a significant diplomatic development, fifteen Western countries, including France, issued a joint appeal on Wednesday urging recognition of the State of Palestine and calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. This collective stance reflects mounting international pressure for a sustainable resolution to the conflict and a renewed commitment to the two-state solution framework.
