PM Shehbaz Begins Gulf and Türkiye Tour to Boost Diplomacy and Cooperation

[post-views]

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Jeddah on Wednesday for an official visit to Saudi Arabia, accompanied by a high-level delegation. He was received at the airport by Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, along with Pakistan’s Ambassador Ahmed Farooq and Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Al-Malki.

The prime minister is joined by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Syed Tariq Fatemi, among other senior officials.

During his five-day tour, Sharif will also visit Qatar and Türkiye to strengthen bilateral ties and discuss regional peace and security. His visit to Saudi Arabia follows Riyadh’s decision to extend financial support to Pakistan, including a $3 billion deposit and continuation of a $5 billion facility.

In Türkiye, the prime minister will attend the Antalya Diplomacy Forum and engage with global leaders, including President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

This marks his first foreign trip since Pakistan hosted recent US-Iran talks in Islamabad.
