Trump Accuses Iran of Downing US Military Helicopter, Vows Response

[post-views]

US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of shooting down a US military Apache helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz and warned of a strong response, raising fresh concerns over escalating tensions in the region.

In a social media post, Trump said he was informed by the US military that the helicopter was struck while on patrol, adding that both pilots survived the incident without injuries. He stated that the United States “must respond” to what he described as an attack on its forces.

US Central Command confirmed that the incident is under investigation and said the crew was safely rescued within approximately two hours, with their condition reported as stable.

Iran has neither confirmed nor denied the allegation. However, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi urged US forces to withdraw from the region, stressing that the Strait of Hormuz is shared waters and warning that foreign military presence near Iranian territory carries risks of escalation.

The incident comes amid ongoing tensions involving the United States, Iran, and Israel, despite efforts to maintain a fragile regional truce.
