A sessions court in Lahore on Tuesday summoned TikToker Rajab Butt and four other suspects to frame charges against them in a case involving the alleged sexual assault of a social media influencer.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Zafaryab, hearing a private complaint filed by the influencer against Butt and four others, directed all five suspects to appear before the court on August 18 for indictment.
The complainant had filed her private complaint in 2025, alleging she was subjected to sexual assault and subsequent blackmail by the suspects. She claimed to possess evidence supporting the allegations, including WhatsApp conversations, a medical report, and her statement recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The suspects have rejected the charges and previously secured pre-arrest bail from a sessions court.
Last month, Nawab Town police registered a separate case against Butt and his accomplices over an alleged attack on several women and gunfire during an altercation at a cafe. That case was also registered on the complaint of the same woman who had accused Butt of sexual assault in 2025; in her July complaint, she alleged that Butt attacked her and others at the cafe.
Butt has been facing legal proceedings in multiple other cases as well, including allegations of hurting religious sentiments, promoting online gambling, and physical assault.
