The Yash-starrer Toxic, set to release on August 26, has received its censor certificate following a grand trailer launch in Bengaluru on August 8 and a music launch on August 13.
The Central Board of Film Certification has passed the Kannada version of the film with an ‘A’ certificate, with the Bengaluru regional office handing over the certificate to the makers today. According to the certificate, the film’s runtime stands at 194 minutes and 12 seconds, making Toxic 3 hours, 14 minutes, and 12 seconds long.
Bollywood Hungama had first reported back in March 2026 that Toxic’s runtime would exceed three hours, at a time when the film was slated to release on March 19 and clash with the similarly lengthy Dhurandhar The Revenge, a prospect that worried exhibitors, particularly single-screen cinema owners concerned about dividing shows between two long films. Shortly after, the makers postponed Toxic due to the conflict in the Middle East, initially rescheduling it to June 4 before pushing it further to its current August 26 release date.
The film stars Yash, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, Akshay Oberoi, Balaji Manohar, and Sudev Nair, and is directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by Venkat K Narayana.
At the Bengaluru trailer launch, Yash pushed back against the numerous rumours that have circulated about the film over the years. “Nowadays, I see this a lot. Every time a big film starts, there’ll be news of it being shelved on the 10th day or 20th day! I don’t know where they write these stories,” he said, adding that filmmaking involves considerable unpredictability around actor availability and mood, comparing the process to “going to war against the whole world.”
