LAHORE/KARACHI: Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance President Malik Shehzad Awan has announced a 5 percent increase in freight charges following the latest rise in petroleum prices.
Reacting strongly to the increase, Awan criticised frequent changes in fuel prices, saying such fluctuations were creating difficulties for the goods transport sector.
He also rejected the practice of revising petroleum prices on a daily basis.
Awan said goods transporters had recently ended their 40-day strike after the federal and provincial governments assured them that their outstanding issues would be addressed.
