NEW YORK: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in New York with a small delegation to represent Pakistan at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi are accompanying the prime minister during his visit.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly on September 25.
In his address, the prime minister will present Pakistan’s position on the evolving regional and global security situation, highlighting the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
He will also outline Pakistan’s diplomatic and mediation efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions and promoting peace and stability.
The prime minister is expected to highlight Pakistan’s priorities on major international challenges, including sustainable development, climate change, counterterrorism, Islamophobia and global economic difficulties.
