RAWALPINDI: Security forces gunned down 11 terrorists in an operation in the Wana region of South Waziristan district on Thursday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), as the nation faces escalating extremism.
According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing, the security forces effectively “foiled a high-profile terrorist action” while executing the intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the general region. Local terrorist commander Hafiz Ullah and two suicide bombers were among the terrorists were down, according to the military’s media wing, which also stated that a large amount of weapons and ammunition were seized in the IBO.
“The terrorists who were murdered remained actively involved in terrorist operations against security forces and target killing of police in South Waziristan district,” according to the ISPR.
