Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has reaffirmed his government’s resolve to continue operations against terrorism until the last terrorist is eliminated.
Speaking to anchors and senior journalists from the national media through a video link in Quetta, Bugti praised the security forces for what he described as their exceptional services under difficult and challenging circumstances.
Earlier, a series of important briefings was held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Quetta, focusing on Balochistan’s socio-economic development, minerals and mining sector, and the overall law and order situation.
During a briefing by the Planning and Development Department, officials presented the provincial government’s key strategy for accelerating socio-economic development. Discussions focused on improving governance and public service delivery, ensuring the effective use of available funds, and making certain that development projects produce tangible benefits for the people of Balochistan.
A separate briefing reviewed the potential of the province’s mineral and mining sector along with the progress of ongoing projects. Officials said various initiatives were being undertaken to develop the sector and ensure that Balochistan’s people receive greater benefits from the province’s mineral resources.
The Home and Tribal Affairs Department also presented a detailed assessment of the security situation and the measures being taken to improve law and order across the province. The briefing covered implementation of the Provincial Action Plan, reforms in the police system and, in particular, the process of integrating the Levies Force into the police.
