The Biden administration is engaging in confidential discussions with Indian authorities regarding a potential visit to the White House by Prime Minister Narendra Modi later this year, as per credible sources privy to the talks.
President Joe Biden is determined to fortify bonds with the largest democracy in the world as a key component in his plan to triumph in what he perceives as a showdown between free societies and authoritarian regimes, particularly China.
The White House and the Indian Embassy in D.C. have declined to make any official remarks.
It’s worth mentioning that the visit’s dates are still up in the air and discussions have escalated this week with Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval’s meeting with US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and Secretary of State Antony Blinken in the nation’s capital.
During this visit, the US and India put the pedal to the metal on a collaborative effort to strengthen ties in military hardware, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence.
