Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry refuted speculations on Tuesday that former Prime Minister Imran Khan had requested to meet Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, stating that Khan had made no such request either personally or through any of his representatives.
In a tweet, the former information minister clarified that neither Khan nor any of his representatives had approached the Army chief for a meeting. Chaudhry also added that there had been no suggestion from President Arif Alvi to Khan about a meeting between the Army Chief and Shahbaz Sharif.
The claim by Chaudhry aimed to address the rumors that had been circulating regarding Khan’s alleged attempt to secure a meeting with the Army chief. However, Chaudhry’s tweet puts those rumors to rest by stating that there was no truth to them.
