According to sources from private news agency, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has convened a meeting with coalition partners to discuss the political situation in the country and the efforts of the Jamat-e-Islami (JI) in negotiating between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The meeting, which will take place at 3:30pm today at the PM House, aims to address the existing political and constitutional crises and make decisions accordingly.
After meeting with JI chief Sirajul Haq, who has proposed an all-parties conference after Eid ul Fitr to resolve the impasse between the government and Imran Khan-led PTI, the Prime Minister will consult with the allied parties.
The meeting will also address the Supreme Court’s order to release Rs21 billion for elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the rejection of the National Assembly’s motion to allow the central bank to release funds will also be discussed.
