Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari strongly condemned the international community on Monday for “willfully ignoring” India’s brutality in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), stating that compromising long-standing principles for short-term gains was unwise.
Addressing the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, he posed a crucial question to the world: “Can a nation be allowed to disregard its solemn commitments to the United Nations, abandon its own pledges, and brazenly violate international law for its own agenda?”

He further emphasized the sanctity of the commitments made under the UN Security Council resolutions, asserting that they should not be subjected to the whims of any jingoistic political party or weakened over time.
The foreign minister’s remarks coincided with the convening of a G20 tourism working group in IIOJK, marking the region’s first international event since India’s annexation on August 5, 2019.
