Republic Policy organised an engaging discussion, panel session and question-and-answer programme on its book Fixing the Legislative Branch of Government in Pakistan on the second day of the Multan International Book Fair at the IR Event Complex, Multan.
The session brought the book’s central theme of legislative reform into focus, providing an opportunity to discuss the role, performance and institutional responsibilities of Pakistan’s legislative branch. The discussion also offered participants an opportunity to engage with the questions surrounding parliamentary effectiveness, democratic governance and the need to strengthen representative institutions.
The event was marked by an active exchange of ideas and an encouraging atmosphere of intellectual engagement. Through its publications and public discussions, Republic Policy continues to promote informed debate on the institutional and constitutional challenges confronting Pakistan. The organisation seeks to bring policy debates beyond academic and professional circles and create opportunities for students, researchers and the wider public to engage with questions of national importance.
The panel discussion and question-and-answer session formed part of Republic Policy’s broader effort to encourage critical thinking about the country’s governance structure. By placing legislative reform at the centre of public conversation, the session highlighted the importance of examining how representative institutions can become more effective, accountable and responsive to the needs of citizens.
Next Session: Focus on Judicial Reform
Continuing its programme at the Multan International Book Fair, Republic Policy will organise another intellectual session on the third day of the event, Sunday, November 8, 2026. The upcoming lecture will focus on its publication Fixing the Judicial Branch of Government in Pakistan.
The session is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. at the IR Event Complex, Multan International Book Fair. It will provide an opportunity to examine the institutional challenges facing Pakistan’s judicial system and discuss the need for meaningful reforms to strengthen the administration of justice.
Republic Policy has extended an invitation to members of academia, scientists, university and college students, research scholars and all those interested in constitutional development, institutional reform and public policy. Participants are encouraged to attend, engage with the discussion and contribute thoughtful questions to what promises to be an intellectually stimulating session.
The two consecutive discussions on the legislative and judicial branches reflect Republic Policy’s continuing focus on institutional reform as a central requirement for improving governance in Pakistan. The organisation invites the academic community and the public in Multan to join tomorrow’s session and become part of an important conversation about the future of the country’s constitutional institutions.
