Following the inclusion of intelligence officials, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has outlined plans to intensify its efforts against white-collar crimes, as per a report by The News on Tuesday.
As part of this initiative, NAB has established an anti-white-collar crime task force to provide technical support for their investigations.
This development comes in response to a Supreme Court verdict that declared amendments to the NAB law unconstitutional, resulting in the reinstatement of corruption cases.
Sources have indicated that NAB will collaborate with various organizations for technical support, including the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and the Federal Investigations Agency (FIA).
The report highlights the establishment of an efficient intelligence system within NAB offices.
Moreover, intelligence officers on deputation will be assigned to NAB offices and will operate under their respective pay scales and salaries.
NAB Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmad Butt has approved the inclusion of intelligence officers in the task force to enhance technical support.
It’s worth noting that to expedite the accountability process, the Establishment Division recently announced the appointment of four military officers to various NAB departments.
