The Foreign Office (FO) has set up a Crisis Management Unit (CMU) to help Pakistani citizens in Lebanon in the midst of increasing violence following Israel’s recent attacks on multiple cities, resulting in significant casualties, including the death of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah.
According to an official statement, the FO has confirmed that both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad and the Pakistani Embassy in Beirut are actively engaged in supporting affected citizens. The newly established CMU aims to streamline communication and aid for those in Lebanon.
Pakistani nationals in Lebanon and their families are encouraged to reach out to the CMU using the following contact details:
- Landline: 051-9207887
- Email: cmu1@mofa.gov.pk
Furthermore, the Pakistani Embassy in Beirut can be reached 24/7 at the following contact numbers:
- Cell/WhatsApp: 00961-81669488, 00961-81815104
- Email: parepbeirut@mofa.gov.pk
Earlier in the week, the FO had cautioned against travel to Lebanon, advising Pakistani citizens to refrain from visiting until further notice due to the ongoing conflict. It also suggested that individuals already in Lebanon should consider utilizing available commercial flights to leave the country. For those unable to depart for specific reasons, the FO recommended exercising extreme caution and relocating to safer areas.
