Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif warmly greeted Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim during his three-day official visit to Pakistan. The Malaysian premier was welcomed at the airport by children in traditional attire who presented him with bouquets. He was also honored with a guard of honor by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army, accompanied by the booming of 21 guns in the background. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with members of the federal cabinet, were also present to welcome the visiting dignitary.
The Malaysian prime minister, accompanied by a high-level delegation, will hold meetings with the leadership of Pakistan to discuss strengthening Pakistan-Malaysia ties in various fields such as trade, connectivity, energy, agriculture, halal industry, tourism, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people contacts. Additionally, the visit provides an important opportunity to further strengthen Pakistan-Malaysia relations. In a separate meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his admiration for religious scholar Dr. Zakir Naik’s efforts in spreading the true message of Islam and welcomed his son, Shaikh Farooq Naik, who is also following his footsteps in serving Islam. Dr. Zakir Naik, in turn, expressed his mission of introducing the message of Islam worldwide and mentioned his plans to deliver lectures in Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore.
