Aleema Khan, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, warned on Friday that if their demands were not addressed, they would urge overseas Pakistanis to stop sending remittances to the country as part of the first phase of civil disobedience. Speaking to the press outside Adiala Jail after meeting her brother, Aleema accused a small group of elites of controlling the country’s affairs and exploiting the masses, citing electricity bills and the owners of power generation companies as examples.

She claimed these companies were owned by individuals in the government, and when times get tough, figures like Mohsin Naqvi would flee abroad.

Aleema outlined Imran Khan’s demands, which include the formation of a joint investigation team, led by the senior-most judges of the Supreme Court, to look into the May 9 and November 26 events, and the release of political prisoners.

She also disputed the reported figure of 12 deaths on November 26, claiming that more people had been killed on Jinnah Avenue during that time. Referring to the violence, Aleema argued that many people had been martyred by snipers, and the bodies were hidden to prevent the truth from coming out.

She further claimed that around 150-200 individuals went missing during the late-night operation, and their families were still searching for them in jails. Aleema emphasized that this was not a political matter, but one of humanity, and vowed to continue pursuing answers about the missing individuals.
