In a significant overnight attack, Russia launched 113 drones against Ukraine, as reported by the Ukrainian air force on Saturday. Of those, Ukraine successfully shot down 57 drones, while an additional 56 were thwarted from hitting their intended targets, primarily due to interference from electronic warfare systems that rendered them ineffective.
The Russian assault also included the firing of one S-400 missile aimed at central Ukraine, although it reportedly caused no damage. This incident reflects Moscow’s ongoing strategy of near-daily drone attacks, using large numbers of unmanned aerial vehicles in an attempt to wear down Ukraine’s air defences and disrupt its capabilities.
