Vyacheslav Volodin Heads to India for Key Talks Amid Strengthening Russia-India Ties

Vyacheslav Volodin, the chairman of Russia’s State Duma, announced on Sunday that he was traveling to India for a series of significant discussions. In a post on his Telegram account, Volodin, a close ally of President Vladimir Putin, revealed plans to arrive in New Delhi by nightfall, with important meetings and negotiations scheduled for the following day.

“India is a strategic partner. We have long-standing relations of trust and mutually beneficial cooperation with it. It is necessary to develop contacts in all areas,” Volodin said, emphasizing the importance of strengthening ties between the two nations.

The visit comes amid growing cooperation between Russia and India, with reports indicating that Russia has established a secret trade channel with India to facilitate economic exchanges, further enhancing their bilateral relationship.
