Leading the high-level delegation from Saudi Arabia is Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, accompanied by Saudi Minister of Water and Agriculture Abdul Rahman Abdul Mohsen Al-Fadley, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Ibrahim Al Khorayef, and Deputy Minister of Investment Badr Al Badr, among others. The delegation arrived in Pakistan on Monday for a two-day visit, landing at Rawalpindi’s Nur Khan Airbase and being received by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

The visit is anticipated to build on the understanding reached between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammad bin Salman during their recent meeting in Makkah. The aim is to enhance bilateral economic cooperation, with a specific focus on expediting the first wave of a planned $5 billion Saudi investment package for Pakistan.

As part of the visit, the Saudi delegation is scheduled to hold meetings with the president, the prime minister, the foreign minister, counterpart ministers, the army chief, and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). The delegation is also expected to consult on the next stages of investment and issues related to implementation.

The visit, described as “very important” by a statement issued by state-run Pakistan Television, is a testament to the mutual trust and cooperation between the leadership of both countries. It is expected to pave the way for increasing export capacity, launching joint ventures, creating new opportunities, and advancing the achievement of the SIFC’s objectives, thereby bringing more speed and confidence to Pakistan’s economy.

The visit is a clear indication of the strengthening of relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The statement issued by state-run Pakistan Television highlights the end of Pakistan’s diplomatic isolation and the emergence of a new closeness, innovation, and warmth in its relations with its always reliable and brotherly countries, especially Saudi Arabia.
