A week-long anti-polio campaign across the country has started today.
Polio workers will go door to door to administer anti-polio drops to children under five years of age.
45 million 800,000 (45.8 million) children are expected to be immunized during the second campaign this year.
Children will also be given vitamin A supplements to boost their immunity.
An anti-polio campaign will be conducted in 33 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from March 3 to 9.
Meanwhile, strict security arrangements have been made to protect the polio workers and especially in sensitive areas, police and rangers personnel will be present with the teams.
