Armed forces are modernizing their system according to the needs of the country: Chief of Army Staff

Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir has said that the armed forces of Pakistan are modernizing their system according to the needs of the country to respond to any threat against Pakistan.

He said this while interacting with officers and soldiers on the occasion of observing the firing of various air defense weapon systems during Exercise Al Baizah 2024 III in Sonmiani today.

The Chief of Army Staff witnessed the integrated fire and combat exercises of the Army Air Defense System including High to Medium Air Defense Weapon System, Low to Medium Air Defense System, Short Range Air Defense System and Extended Short Range Air Defense System.

As a historic achievement and a milestone for enhancing the air defense of Pakistan’s air borders, the Hamad system successfully engaged the target with other layered weapon systems to fire for the first time during the exercise. Tested.

General Syed Asim Munir appreciated the outstanding achievement of the Corps of Army Air Defense in achieving the targets with precision and operational readiness.

Corps Commander Karachi, Commander Army Air Defence, Inspector General Training and Evaluation and Inspector General Arms also witnessed the exercise.

Earlier, the Army Chief visited the Army Air Defense Center.

He laid wreaths on the martyrs’ memorial and paid tribute to the martyrs of the armed forces.

The Army Chief also appointed Lieutenant General Muhammad Zafar Iqbal as the Colonel Commandant of the Army Air Defense Corps
