Intelligence agencies have initiated a serious investigation into two former Adiala Jail officials. They are facing grave allegations of aiding the incarcerated founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan. The former Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Akram and Assistant Superintendent Bilal have been intensely questioned regarding their alleged involvement in providing special assistance to Imran Khan.

Both officials were relieved of their duties on June 21 based on recommendations from the intelligence agencies. Reports suggest that the officers were accused of having unauthorized access to Imran Khan’s cell and providing undisclosed support.

Intelligence agencies have reportedly broadened the scope of their investigation into the facilitation of the PTI founder, demonstrating their commitment to uncovering all relevant details.

In a recent turn of events, Imran Khan vehemently criticized what he perceives as the unwarranted interference of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in civilian affairs. During an informal media talk inside Adiala Jail, the incarcerated former prime minister expressed his concerns, stating, “We have filed a petition in court questioning the presence of ISI majors and colonels in Adiala Jail.” He further added, “The ISI has no authority in civil matters or judicial affairs. The prison superintendent is following ISI orders, leading to the transfer of two officers to ensure no leniency is shown to me.”
