Iran has declared the conclusion of its missile attack on Israel, warning of a stronger response if provoked further. In response, Israel and the US have pledged to retaliate against Iran, heightening fears of an expanded conflict.
Following Tuesday’s attack, which involved over 180 ballistic missiles according to Israel, the United States vowed to collaborate with Israel to ensure severe consequences for Iran. Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council has scheduled a meeting, and the European Union has called for an immediate ceasefire in the region.
Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araqchi, stated that Iran’s action is currently concluded unless Israel provokes further retaliation. Israel, on the other hand, renewed its bombardment of Beirut’s southern suburbs, targeting sites associated with the Iran-backed Hezbollah group.
The conflict has resulted in casualties, with at least one man killed in the occupied West Bank and numerous injuries reported in Lebanon. Iran’s state news agency reported that three Israeli military bases were targeted in the assault.
Tensions between Iran and the US have also escalated, with Iran using hypersonic missiles for the first time and the US deploying interceptors against Iranian missiles. Both the US and Israel have promised severe consequences for Iran’s actions, with fears of a wider war looming.
The international community has called for restraint and an immediate ceasefire to prevent further escalation and loss of life in the region.
