In a firm and unequivocal statement, the Republic Policy Think Tank highlights Pakistan’s clear diplomatic stance on the escalating Israel-Iran conflict. During a press briefing on Thursday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan condemned Israel’s recent military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, labeling them a “blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter.”

The spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s full solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating that the strikes breach Iranian sovereignty and threaten the peace and stability of the entire region. Invoking Article 51 of the UN Charter, he emphasized Iran’s right to self-defense and denounced the aggression as unjustified and illegitimate.

Pakistan’s Senate was also briefed by Senator Ishaq Dar, confirming that OIC member states collectively opposed Israel’s actions. Responding to queries, Ambassador Khan rejected rumors of regime change in Iran and clarified that no request for security assistance or refugee support had been made by Tehran so far.

While Pakistan abstained from voting on the IAEA resolution concerning Iran, the country continues to push for de-escalation through diplomacy. Ambassador Khan stressed that Pakistan strongly advocates for peaceful solutions and urges all parties to refrain from provocation.

Touching on broader regional dynamics, Khan also referenced Field Marshal Asim Munir’s recent meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump. While declining to provide specifics beyond the ISPR statement, he acknowledged the constructive U.S. role in easing Pakistan-India tensions, including a facilitated ceasefire.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent position on India’s state-sponsored terrorism and reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to peaceful dispute resolution, particularly on Kashmir. The evacuation of over 3,000 Pakistanis from active conflict zones through coordinated efforts in Taftan, Baku, and Baghdad was also highlighted.

In a separate note, Pakistan confirmed its readiness to host Sikh pilgrims for Guru Arjun Dev Jee’s anniversary. However, no visa applications have yet been submitted by Sikh pilgrims to the High Commission in New Delhi.

The Republic Policy Think Tank underscores this episode as a moment of high-stakes diplomacy where Pakistan’s balanced foreign policy emphasizes peace, regional security, and multilateral engagement — rejecting unilateral aggression in any form.
