The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given the green light to four national players to participate in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), which kicks off this weekend. According to sources, wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan, explosive opener Fakhar Zaman, fast bowler Mohammad Amir, and all-rounder Imad Wasim have received no objection certificates (NOCs) to play in the CPL.
However, 22-year-old opener Saim Ayub’s request for an NOC was declined. He is currently busy with the national Test team, engaged in a two-Test series against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi.
Azam Khan will represent the Guyana Amazon Warriors, while Fakhar Zaman will join the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. Both Amir and Wasim will also be part of the same team.

Notably, the PCB recently turned down requests from Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi to participate in the Global T20 League Canada. The decision was made to ensure players get adequate rest, considering the busy schedule leading up to the Champions Trophy 2025.
Speaking of which, Pakistan is set to host the ninth edition of the Champions Trophy from February 19 to March 9, 2025. The PCB’s priority remains the players’ fitness and well-being, even as they allow participation in two franchise cricket leagues alongside the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
