Pakistan’s cricket captain, Babar Azam, expressed strong confidence as the team prepared to depart for India to participate in the ICC Men’s World Cup, setting their sights on winning the coveted trophy.

Speaking at a pre-departure press conference in Lahore, Babar Azam stated, “Our team’s morale is soaring, and our confidence is unwavering. We are committed to giving our best performance. I urge all of you to keep us in your prayers.”

The team is heading to the 50-over tournament following a disappointing performance in the recently concluded Asia Cup, where they finished fourth and saw their ICC ODI ranking drop to second place. However, Babar Azam believes that the setback served as a valuable learning experience.

“We may not have met our expectations in the Asia Cup, but we’ve gained valuable insights from that experience. We don’t just identify our mistakes; we also discuss how to rectify them,” emphasized the captain.
